In the Trunk of an Organizer

New Season of Fundamentals of Organizing Podcast out now.

In organizing, there’s little more recognizable than the car of an organizer. Open the trunk and you’re sure to find a marked up roll of butcher paper, a banner hastily stuffed in the corner, and a box with sign-in sheets, fliers, and markers, maybe a bag of donuts leftover from the last meeting. Even in the digital age a handful of clipboards will likely be scattered about.

Open the passenger door and they’ll swipe the remnants of the last three meals onto the floor and say “let’s go.” It’s an office on wheels and once the campaign ends, it will be cleaned, they promise.

With the life of an organizer in mind, we turned our Fundamentals of Community Organizing pamphlet into an audio book and put it out on the Fundamentals of Organizing podcast feed. So, for those keepers of butcher paper and sign-in sheets, the committed souls who spend their lives running from meeting to meeting, this is for you. We’re proud to be in the car with you, and by the way, we think it looks just as it should.

A big shout-out to our friends at the The Mashup Americans who produce the Fundamentals of Organizing podcast. We are blessed to work this incredible group on so many projects! Thank you Amy, Rebecca, Sara, Shelby and the whole Mashup team.
